This course considers current issues in Japan, such as those faced in daily life from a legal perspective based upon laws and related methods. This course teaches Japanese civil law in more detail related to contemporary problems. The course starts with a review of the civil code and covers canceling of contracts, intellectual property, internet-related legal issues, cashless transactions, bankruptcy, torts, and protection of the elderly.

Handmade Shells

This course is designed to help you navigate through your journey in graduate school at the Japanese university of your dreams and beyond. The course will introduce you to universities in different regions of Japan and discuss what sets Japanese graduate education apart from the rest of the world. You will also be guided through the application process and necessary decision-making when planning for your stay in Japan. Finally, you will be given some post-graduation career insights.

Handmade Shells

You will learn how to identify and solve every day ethical issues in engineering, science and Artificial Intelligence (AI). This course will also introduces Aspirational Ethics. Ethical concepts are taught by bringing in authentic case-studies, for example, the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant incident in 2011 and NASA Challenger explosion.

Handmade Shells

This course covers the legal system and basic concepts of Japanese Civil Law, starting with the study of concepts that are common in many countries, such as, basic human rights, and personal security. It also covers current issues in Japan, for example, those faced in daily life from a legal perspective based upon laws and related practices. The relationship between law and contemporary Japanese culture and society will be discussed which then you can compare it to the law of other countries.

Computations are what computers, including those utilizing Artificial Intelligent algorithms, are actually doing. Learn about the basic and key concepts of computer science while experiencing how to program and design “computational algorithms.” The course offers an introduction to computer science including writing simple programs using the language Ruby. The course lectures are in Japanese.

Handmade Shells

A computation can be a basic operation or a sophisticated computer simulation requiring a large amount of data and substantial resources. This course aims at introducing learners with no prior knowledge to basics and key concepts of computer science. You will learn about algorithms and practice what you learned by programming using the language Ruby.

Handmade Shells

In this course, you will be introduced to the representative methodology called DEMO (Design & Engineering Methodology for Organizations) in Enterprise Ontology. You will have a better understanding of the concept and learn how to apply it to the targeted systems with a certain size. The concepts are taught using primarily using the DEMO-3 system and referenced to DEMO-4.

Handmade Shells

This course introduces fundamental topics in electrical and electronic engineering including a broad range of examples. You will learn about solar cells (batteries), portable cell phones, actual applications from Japanese corporate engineers, including the high-speed railway, plus advanced research being performed at high-tech laboratories in Japan. The topics covered range from introductory materials to fundamental research and applications.

The "Super Smart Society," a future society in which unmanned tractors plow vast fields, automated buses and trucks transport people and goods, and avatar robots provide nursing care, is just around the corner. In this course, you will learn about cutting edge research on how researchers are tackling social issues and providing solutions through scientific and technological innovation toward the realization of the Super Smart Society.

Handmade Shells

Learn the basics of programming and various techniques of coding with computer Shogi. The course uses "MT Shogi", a Shogi program that runs on MATLAB. You will learn fundamental concepts of programming through easy-to-understand explanations on the key points of "MT Shogi".

Handmade Shells

This course is designed for beginners to learn about line tracing, the first technology need for autonomous driving, using virtual experiments. MATLAB, which is necessary to run the simulations in the course, is available free of charge during the course, through the generosity of Mathworks.
